The winners of the Wacken Metal Battle Germany 2025, GUN CALLED BRITNEY, have announced their first full-length album for 2027. What began on the stages of Hamburg’s Reeperbahn in 2019 has evolved into Germany’s most serious contender in the sleaze rock scene, within just a few years.
Five musicians from Hamburg, self-built laser guitars, and a liveshow that turns any club into a stadium: GUN CALLED BRITNEY combine the spirit of the Sunset Strip with German groundedness and plenty of charm. Their lyrics are brutally honest. They are driven by a desire to break free —from routines, expectations, and the feeling of putting life on hold for a future that never seems to arrive.
“Ready to crack my bounds – Someone set me free”
Back in 2020, Metal Hammer already named the band one of the most exciting German newcomers in the genre. A serious of singles and festival appearances followed. In 2025, GUN CALLED BRITNEY won the Wacken Metal Battle Germany Finals, performed at Wacken Open Air and Dong Open Air, opened for a sold-out crowd in Hamburg for Motörizer, and toured Germany as support for Nestor. The band is currently working on its debut album, which is scheduled for release in 2027.
